First off remember that you should just let him be right... I know that this idea pritty much sucks but in the case of my father inlaw if he is not right then he is not happy which equals him making your life a living hell. A big key to succeding at not pissing him off DO NOT TALK BACK! DO NOT let him know your personal information such as how much money you have in the bank, it is not any of his bussiness to begin with, but letting him know that you have over drafted your account is not such a great idea...lol most likely he will asume that when anything goes wrong in your marrital finances it is automatically your fault!SO DONT LET HIM KNOW! Also DO not barrow money from him ever!!!
It is normal to have some conflict because he is the father of your husband or wife, but to minnimise this you must give him as little insight as possible into your finances,relashionship,exetra anything that can be used as ammo...
FYI: not pissing your father inlaw off doesnt mean that you let him control your life, he might be "right" when your in the middle of a uncomfertible conversation, but most likely you are a competent adult capable of making intelegent decisions so make them. GOOD LUCK!!!!
REMEMBER: over time wierd inlaws just get wierder! so have fun!!!
